Reporting
Download the consensus, participation, and response files from Reports, and the study summary and outline from Reporting, and treat each file as evidence the screen produced.
Who can open this: Principal investigator, Steering committee (full access), Steering confirmer, Biostatistics
Who this is for
Reports, in the study's sidebar, opens for anyone who can open the study's Results page. That is the principal investigator, Steering committee (full access), Biostatistics, and a Steering confirmer. It is also anyone in the workspace when Study team has "Let every workspace member read this study" on. A Coordinator, Coder, or Adjudicator does not open it on their own seat.
The response file is left out when, apart from a Steering confirmer seat, that person could not open Results. Consensus and participation stay. When Results is read-only for the person looking, Reports adds "You can read and download; you cannot change results." A Steering confirmer seat is read. The principal investigator, Steering committee (full access), and Biostatistics keep edit until the study is completed; then Results becomes read-only and that sentence appears for them too.
Reporting, in the study's sidebar, opens for the principal investigator and Steering committee (full access). Biostatistics does not open that page. Use Reports for the round files instead.
On a round, "Export round" is the same files for that round. Someone who cannot export sees the button unavailable.
Steps
Table: which control downloads which file. The screen does not offer a DOCX file.
| File | Where | Control |
|---|---|---|
| Consensus report | Reports | Open the report, then Download consensus CSV |
| Participation report | Reports | Open the report, then Download participation CSV |
| Response file | Reports | Download responses |
| Responses, Consensus, Participation | A rating round | Export round |
| Participation, Questionnaire responses | A questionnaire round | Export round |
| Study summary | Reporting | Create report. The file is Markdown. |
| Study data | Reporting | Export. The line is "CSV · All rounds". |
| Responses | Reporting | Export, which opens Reports |
| Codebook | Reporting | Export stays unavailable: "No codebook has been saved for this study." |
| Results requests | Reporting | Download the list (CSV). That list is addresses. |
- Open Reports. The page says what the panel said and who took part comes from the stored results and records. No file or page there has a name or an email address. Times are dates only. Anything fewer people answered than the Analysis plan's smallest group is held back. "What these files leave out" lists the same limits, including comment text and answers removed or waiting to be removed. A sample study says "Sample studies hold no responses".
- Open "Consensus report" with "Open the report". For each rating round that has closed collection, the page shows the current results version in the study's own words, and "Withheld" when a statement is below the floor. "Download consensus CSV" is available once a closed round has computed results and they pass their integrity check. If stored results cannot be trusted, the page says so and does not show figures. On the last round, "Final result of this round" counts "Final: retained", "Final: excluded", "Final: retired", "Final: no consensus", and "Final: deferred, still unclear", plus "withheld (below the reporting floor)" as one figure. "Study result" lists each statement once. "Download study result CSV" waits until "The study result file is available once all rating rounds have confirmed decisions and every statement is settled."
- Open "Participation report". The table is counts: "Round", "In the round", "Submitted", "Completed", "Not submitted", "Withdrew", "Answers removed", "Response rate", and "Originators". A small round says "Fewer than [N] people, so no breakdown is given." The page says "Closed" means the round was finalized after its results and decisions, not the earlier close of collection. "Download participation CSV" is available once a round has opened. "Recruitment" is counts, or withheld the same way when the panel is smaller than the floor.
- Download the response file from Reports with "Download responses". The hidden description says "as a CSV file, without names". It is one row per answer, by panelist number. Comments are not in it, only whether one was given. Until a rating round has closed collection, the page says "Available once a rating round has closed collection." If the Analysis plan promises combined results only, the page refuses the file and says the consensus and participation reports are still available.
- On a rating round's own page, "Export round" offers "Responses", "Consensus", and "Participation" for that round. Each enabled row is a CSV. A row that is not ready states why, for example that the round has not closed collection yet or has no results yet. A questionnaire round offers "Participation" and "Questionnaire responses" instead of the rating response file. See Round 1 structural decision.
- Open Reporting to make the study-level files. "Create report" on "Study summary" downloads a Markdown file of the study record, its rounds, and current results as counts. It does not include responses, statement wording, or anyone's name or email address. "Study data" is "CSV · All rounds"; "Export" downloads the one-row outline. "Responses" sends you back to Reports. "Report settings" is saved with the study: "Report preset", which outputs to produce, and "Reporting standard". Choosing a standard records a setting. It does not make a downloaded file a compliance document. "Results requests" counts people who asked to be sent a summary. The principal investigator downloads results-requests-YYYY-MM-DD.csv with "Download the list (CSV)". The file includes an email address and a name, unlike the study-report files, and you send the summary yourself. Then delete the list on that card. From the participant list's Export, the principal investigator downloads panelists-identifiable-YYYY-MM-DD.csv after a reason of at least 30 characters. That file includes a name, an email address, and an organization. The pseudonymized list from that export has no names.
The study-report CSVs are responses-YYYY-MM-DD.csv and responses-round-N-YYYY-MM-DD.csv, consensus-YYYY-MM-DD.csv and consensus-round-N-YYYY-MM-DD.csv, participation-YYYY-MM-DD.csv and participation-round-N-YYYY-MM-DD.csv, questionnaire-responses-round-N-YYYY-MM-DD.csv for one round only, and study-result.csv. The study summary is Markdown. The one-row outline is a CSV, and its Formats cell can contain the word DOCX when that setting is saved. The screen does not build a DOCX file. A CSV is not a manuscript and not a certificate.
What the app will not do
- The screen does not build a PDF, a DOCX file, a REFI-QDA file, a qualitative ZIP, a checksummed bundle, or an XLSX file.
- It will not download a codebook. "Codebook" is listed as "CSV · Current version", and "Export" says "No codebook has been saved for this study."
- It will not keep a report history you can download. "View report history" says "Generated files are downloaded from this page. A stored history is not kept yet." A study you create shows "No reports have been generated for this study yet."
- It will not put names, email addresses, times of day, comment text, or figures below the reporting floor into the consensus, participation, or response files.
- It will not show a consensus report for a round that has not closed collection, or a file when stored results fail their integrity check.
- It will not offer the response file when, apart from a Steering confirmer seat, that person could not open Results, or when the Analysis plan promises combined results only.
