What a Delphi panel is
A Delphi panel is a group of people who rate the same statements. You do not see who gave which answer. The study chooses how many rounds.
You say whether you are interested, read a consent form, and rate each open round. See invitation and consent, rating, leaving, what is published, and getting help.
Questions appear only when the study asks them, and you read the group only on a later round.
| Step | What you do |
|---|---|
| Invitation | Say whether you are interested. Saying yes is not consent and does not enroll you. |
| Questions, if the study asks | Answer them before the consent form opens. |
| Consent | Read the published form. Agree, or say you do not agree. |
| Each round | Rate the statements. Answers save as you go. Submit while the round is open. The study chooses how many rounds. |
| A later round | Read what the group said last time, then rate again. No statement is given a decision label. |
What you see from the group
On a later round the heading is What the group said in Round and the earlier round's number. Read it, then rate again. You can keep your rating or change it.
Under a statement, as the study chose, you may see how many people answered, the Median rating, the Middle half of ratings, and the shares who agreed, who were In between, and who disagreed. The words at the ends of the scale are the study's. You may also see You rated this with your earlier rating, What other panelists said, or Themes in the comments. Themes are groups of comments, each raised by several different panelists. Comment text appears only for comments the study chose to share.
A note on the page says: "Status is the study team's reading of where the group stands on that statement." The figures under a statement do not include that reading, or any word for a decision about the statement.
If too few people answered, the page says the group's numbers are not shown, so that nobody can be picked out. A statement reworded after that round shows no earlier numbers. A new statement says it is new in this round.
