Leaving a study
Stopping emails is not leaving. Press Stop these emails under Stop emails from the study. Invitations, reminders, and round-open notices stop. Your round link still works. You will not get more emails about this study. Write to the study team.
Leaving
Leaving the study says "Stopping emails keeps you in the study." Read What happens when you leave, then I want to leave this study and Leave the study now? Press Yes, leave the study or No, stay in the study. This takes effect straight away. The study team cannot undo it.
Enrolled: taking part, waiting messages, and your round link stop. Answers you gave stay under your consent. If not enrolled, nothing you gave is deleted.
Also remove the answers I have already given starts unticked, so your answers stay. You leave either way. Ticked, press Yes, leave the study and ask for my answers to be removed. If that round's analysis is not finalized, your answers are deleted now and the results are worked out again without them. The earlier results stay on record as an earlier version. If it is already finalized, the principal investigator reviews the request and emails you the outcome either way.
What removal cannot do
---
"Data that was already anonymised cannot be linked back to a person, so it cannot be removed."
"Reports, exports and publications already released are not recalled."
"Decisions already confirmed in a finalized round stand unless the Principal Investigator reopens them."
From the confirmation email: You have left the study.
Coming back
You have left the study. If you change your mind offers I want to come back. The study team cannot do it for you. Then Read and agree to the consent form as it stands today. Your earlier agreement does not carry over. The study team will confirm after checking eligibility. You are not taking part until then.
If the page names the round you left, you cannot rejoin it. Once back, you take part from the next round.
"We cannot take you back automatically. Please contact the study team that emailed you." "This study is no longer taking part in new rounds, so you cannot rejoin it." "The study team has not published its consent form yet, so you cannot rejoin yet. They will contact you when it is ready."
Emails you stopped stay stopped. No button turns them on.
