Expert directory and recruitment
The workspace page is Expert directory. The line under the title is "Find and manage experts across studies." A record here is a person you may want on a future panel. Saving it does not add them to a study, does not mark them as a panelist, and does not send mail.
The signed-in article Expert directory has the field-by-field steps. Sign in, then open Help & docs in the account menu. This page is the public account of what that task does and what it refuses.
What a record is
Add expert says: "This saves a directory record. It does not send an invitation or add the person to a study." The address is required. Organisation, role, and areas of expertise are optional. Availability is Available, Limited, Unavailable, or Unknown. Availability is whether the person can take on work now. It is not their status on a study, and it is not permission to contact them.
Anyone signed in can open the directory and read a profile's public facts. Contact details, Future contact, all studies, Study emails, internal notes, and internal tags are shown to people who hold the workspace permission Invite people. A workspace administrator can always edit, archive, or delete a saved record. Anyone else can do that only when they hold Invite people, the record is already linked to at least one study, and they are the principal investigator of every linked study. A record that is not on a study yet says "This expert is not on any study yet, so only a workspace administrator can change the record."
Future contact
Future contact covers every study in the workspace. It is separate from a stop on one study's emails.

A stop on one study's emails does not close Add to a study.
Add to a study
Add to a study lists studies only when you hold Invite people. It then lists studies whose People page you can edit, and it leaves out a completed or archived study. Principal investigator or Coordinator is not enough without Invite people. Steering committee (full access) can open Panelists and does not add people.
The dialog says adding an expert creates a prospective panelist and does not send an invitation. Inviting is Invite panelists on that study's Panelists page. A person already on the study cannot be added again. An archived record must be restored first.

Identity
From enrollment on, the directory status reads Participating (identity protected). That named record does not point at the study pseudonym. No ratings or answers appear on the profile. Show status asks for a Reason of at least 30 characters. Record reason and show shows that study's status until you leave or reload the page. The attempt and the reason are recorded on that study's audit trail. The server shows the status only if you may reveal names on that study. A workspace administrator role, by itself, does not.
This is separation of a directory name from the study's response rows. It is not a promise that nobody with the right role can see a name. Some principal-investigator downloads contain a name and an email address. The list is on Identity and pseudonyms. Whether that separation is enough is an open product question. This page does not close it.
What this task will not do
- Saving or opening a directory record does not send mail.
- Add to a study does not queue an invitation.
- Delete is refused once the person has taken part. Archive takes them out of the list and keeps the history.
- A workspace administrator role, by itself, does not show a sealed study status.
